Ginger-Banana Smoothie

A little bit of ginger goes a long way. πŸ™‚

A thumb-nail chunk of ginger adds a generous kick to this smoothie, while the banana thickens the texture. And don’t worry about the raw kale! Along with all of its other benefits, you’ll get a healthy helping of vitamin K, potassium, calcium and fiber. With the exception of the green color of your smoothie, you’ll never even know the kale is in there! πŸ™‚

Recipe:

Oranges: (2), peeled

Carrots: 1/2 of one whole, or about five baby carrots

Kale: a generous handful

Banana: one whole

Ginger root: a thumb-nail chunk, peeled.

Add oranges last if you’re using a Ninja, MagicBullet or Nutribullet since you’ll be flipping the container upside down to process.

Tips:

The carrots and the oranges add a generous amount of fluid. However, if it’s still not enough, add ice cold water 1/2 a cup at a time to get the consistency you like. Also, feel free to add a handful of frozen blueberries to this mixture. ENJOY! πŸ™‚
