“Fortunate for me, kitchen time with Dad watching him prepare meals from scratch, meant a lifetime of lessons, that I was clueless about at the time, implanted for me to recall later.Having food “taste good” was important to Dad – and he used every type of salt, sugar, and fat variation in his seasonal arsenal to create tasty foods. However, like his Mom, who suffered below-the-knee amputations in both her legs from diabetes, Dad developed the same disease and lost his own leg.
