I didn’t post yesterday, but I hung out with Jillian and her Yoga Meltdown. www.jillianmichaels.com. Whenever I mention yoga as a good avenue for building muscles, I get strange looks from some people who are not familiar with the practice. And Jillian’s dvd joins joga, aerobics and her military-style push to hang in there! Even level one is a challenge on your muscles. Try it!
Today I need to run. Getting a late start but hell this is my night off from work, so I’m in no hurry. 🙂
How about you? Got some stairs at your job or your house that you can climb? You know what I do sometimes? I run up and down the stairs that lead from my main floor to the basement. Its about 12 steps. I run up as fast as I can then run or walk back down. Don’t think that can be considered exercise? Try it and you’ll see! 🙂 If you have your own staircase, run up and come back down at least five times. Your thigh muscles will be hollering “heyyyyy!” If you have knee issues, don’t push yourself to hard. Do what you can do. Walking up the staircase as fast as you can is a great start. If you don’t have a staircase at home, ditch the elevator at your job and take the stairs.
The weather’s foggy today and there’s a slight chill. It’s a great day to kick off your heels, throw on some Nike’s or New Balance and walk around the block during your break. And since Mama Nature has blessed us with an early spring, plan for days like this. Carry your sneaks, an extra shirt to sweat in and some personal hygiene stuff. 😉 Keep calorieburning in your thoughts and your line of vision and you’ll find all kinds of ways to get in some exercise! 🙂
